Set up in 1997, Lake Wanaka SouNZ is an non-profit, incorporated society with the aim of promoting New Zealand music. Since the year 2000 LWSI have taken the opportunity to assist where it is able, in particular into the areas of community, music, education, youth, and the environment.
In 2010, SOUNZ FORZA Workshops started up. Featuring guest tutors from Shapeshifter, The Mint Chicks, The Black Seeds, Fly My Pretties, AHoriBuzz, TrinityRoots and more, Sounz Forza provides songwriting, performance and production workshops to students and adults.
In 2015, the first YAMI Sounz Summit was held, to provide a platform for musicians, promoters, producers, engineers and managers to network and learn from the best. The summit is held on odd years in Wanaka.
